Sort the stream before you pick the press
Sheet and light HMS belong in a baler. Beams, plate, engines, and thick sections belong on a shear first. Auto bodies need depollution and usually a high-tonnage triple-action press plus a shear for the heavy remainder.
Shortlist by action and orientation
Triple-action and triple-compression machines suit mixed shapes that need a lid and side ram. Horizontal scrap balers suit yards that already cut to length and want conveyor feed. Double-action and double-compression machines are often discussed for lighter mixed metal and some non-ferrous batches.
What to send with the enquiry
Photos of incoming scrap, daily tonnes, target bale size, whether you already have a shear, and destination (domestic mill vs export). That is enough for engineering to shortlist models. A machine selector on this site can suggest families; it is not a certified mill specification.
