Triple-action and double-compression presses are typically specified where mixed ferrous scrap must reach mill-ready density. Horizontal scrap balers are used where the yard already shears oversized pieces and wants a continuous feed into the chamber.
Operational considerations
- Separate heavy structural sections for shearing before baling where thickness exceeds the chamber rating.
