Footprint, feed method, and throughput — how we choose vertical or horizontal hydraulic balers.
Vertical
Material is loaded from above into a floor-level or low chamber. Footprint is smaller. Typical users: printers, garment units, PET bottle stores, and sites without a conveyor. Automatic vertical models add PLC door locking and ejection sequencing.
Horizontal
The chamber sits in line with a conveyor or hopper. Better for continuous feed and higher daily tonnes of OCC, PET, or mixed dry waste. Semi-automatic horizontals keep a manual door latch; fully automatic horizontals lock and sequence under PLC.
Metal scrap is a different family
Heavy metal scrap balers (triple-action, horizontal scrap balers) are specified from scrap photos and mill bale size, not from this OCC/PET vertical-vs-horizontal choice. Use the scrap baler guide for yards.

- Horizontal Hydraulic Baling Press MachineFully automatic horizontal baling press with PLC-controlled auto-door and cycle sequencing for continuous, high-throughput operation.

Related applications
- Paper BalingLoose paper fills cages and trailers long before it hits a useful shipping weight.
- Plastic and PET BalingEmpty bottles and film are high volume, low weight, and expensive to store or export loose.
- Textile Waste BalingTextile waste is bulky and springs back after light compression, so ordinary short-stroke presses make unstable bales.

Some automatic vertical machines accept hopper or chute feed. Long conveyors and high tonnes per day usually point to a horizontal press. Share the layout sketch with engineering.
