The processing problem
Textile waste is bulky and springs back after light compression, so ordinary short-stroke presses make unstable bales.
Why this process is used
A longer stroke and dwell hold fibre in a stable bale for ginning mills, spinning units, and garment exporters.
Textile waste baling is the purpose of the Narshinga cotton waste baling press and our vertical hydraulic presses with a longer pressing stroke. Ginning, spinning, and garment units use these machines to turn loose fibre into stackable bales.
Horizontal metal scrap balers are the wrong starting point for this material. If your waste is mixed textile and plastic packaging, describe the split so we do not underspecify stroke.
Operational considerations
- Cotton and open fibre need more stroke than carton or PET of the same chamber area.
- Oil-contaminated wiping rags should be declared — they are not the same duty as clean cotton waste.
- Export garment waste often has a buyer-specified bale size.
